PreLent Shrove Tues. Pancake Supper Feb. 24th - Pancakes, sausages, applesauce, and assorted toppings were enjoyed by all who attended. The kitchen crew had a good time in preparation fellowship. The great weather this year definintely helped bring people to Resurrection.

Ash Wednesday Feb. 25, 7:00 pm Imposition of Ashes. Ash Wednesday is a day of fasting and self denial, so that Christians may begin a Holy Lent in preparation for Easter. If you are unable to make a complete fast, please consider fasting from a favorite food or drink, in order to deny your body and turn again to God. Ash Wednesday is a day of public repentance and group confession. If you would like to make a private confession in order to be reconciled to God, the traditional day is Shrove Tuesday (from the English "to shrive" or confess your sins to a priest and receive God's forgiveness.) If you would like to say a confession on Shrove Tues (2/24) or another day in Lent, please contact Mother Paula and make an appointment.

Holy Week: Palm Sunday, April 5, 9:30 a.m. at church, 11:00 a.m. at Linden Grove, Holy week begins with Palm Sunday, on that day we remember the Triumphal entry of Christ into Jerusalem... we welcome him as our Lord with Palms and Hosanna's, but we end with those who cry "crucify him."
On Tuesday of Holy Week, 4/7, clergy go to the Chrismal Mass, where we renew our ordination vows, and the Bishop blesses holy oil for use in the sacrament of baptism, prayer for the sick, and for the catechumens. On this day, I invite you to pray for the clergy of our diocese.
Triduum (Three great days of the Christian Year) Maundy Thursday, 4/9, 7:00 pm, The institution of the Holy Eucharist (Christ's last gift to us) Good Friday, 4/10, 7:00 pm, The death of Christ on the Cross. The church invites us to fast on this day. No mass is offered, in memory of the absence of our Lord. We will have an altar of repose available overnight for those who wish to sit in prayer with Christ. Holy Saturday night, TBD, and Easter Sunday morning, 9:30 am The Resurrection of Christ Jesus.
Many Christians come to church only on Palm Sunday and Easter, and so they miss out on the darker and simpler journey of Christ with his friends, going to the cross, and the stripping and rebirth of the church. I invite you to consider commiting yourself to the whole journey of Holy Week, whether you find yourself in Mukwonago or in some other place. Again, as on any holy day, we will need volunteers: for acolytes, altar guild, readers, intercessors (they lead the prayers), and ushers at services. Sign-up sheet coming.
