MIDNIGHT MAGIC

December 5th 2009

A crisp December day/evening with snowfall from the previous day to provide atmosphere resulted in a successful Midnight Magic Celebration at Resurrection.  The crowds kept the Walking Taco Servers and GIngerbread Supervisors busy.  Sales of hand blown glass, ceramics, and gift basket items were brisk.   Many visitors were interested in our historic building and were given mini tours  of the sanctuary.

Thanks to the volunteers who provided many hours of service and great food for the workers.

ADVENT II  & St. Nicholas Day

A humor filled educational sermon was provided by Pastor Drew to the children and adults of Resurrection on the Feast of St Nicholas (December 6th). The children were willing helpers in acting out the tale of Bishop Nicholas's coins being thrown through the windows and "landing" in socks that were hung to dry and the "pickle barrel" legend.  Later the children were charged to share the wealth they receive with others and given golden chocolate coins to help them with their task.
